California’s burning
If you are the praying kind. Please pray for California. It seems like all of California is on fire right now. I woke up this morning and walked straight to the coffee pot as usual, but noticed a weird light illuminating through the windows. The suns rays are being filtered through tons of smoke. The sun has a smoke ring around it, that reminds me of Armageddon. We are not in danger of the fires coming close to our house, but I know a few who might be evacuated. I have cousins in Calabasas near Malibu and a few friends in the OC. This time of year we often see many fires, especially if we’ve had a dry winter. This past winter was one of the driest on record. But, I’ve never seen the sky like this before…eerie is what comes to mind. Very sad. Please keep California in your prayers. Thank you very much.

A little update. There is another fire that is totally out of control in our local mountains in Lake Arrowhead. My mom’s friend has a cabin there that we use quite often. Luckily it is not her main residence. It’s not really a cabin, it’s a huge 4,000 sq ft beautiful house with mountain and lake views that go forever. My mom hasn’t been able to get a hold of her friend to see if the fire is near her home. She may not even know if the fire is near there either. All the roads have been closed. On the news I saw a house that was almost engulfed in flames but firemen were determined to save a beautiful boat that was in the garage. It looked like there were about 3 firemen pushing the back of the trailer and and one pulling it out. How awesome of them to care about someone’s boat like that. God bless all of the firemen out there!

The home owners, and the firefighters on the line are in my thoughts many times a day
they have such a huge battle on there hands, we have firefighters heading down from Oregon to help. I just hope that when the orders come to evac. peple move instead of waiting……it takes up so much of the emergency crews time.
You know Doug, people amaze me. There were some who refused to leave so the firemen couldn’t either, until residents were all safe. People need to think with their heads instead of their hearts. What if those firemen were injured or killed because the stupid homeowners wouldn’t leave?

we saw it this morning on the sky news, it looks awfull, glad your house will be ok and I am sending safe and positve thoughts to your cousins and all those in danger, lets hope they put them out quickly

yeah, I’ve been thinking about you and your family, praying, and hoping alls well. Glad to hear you’re not in direct danger, but I’m sure you know many that are. I’ve been watching on the news how the firemen are carrying pictures out of the homes before they start burning and putting them on the lawn so people will have them when they come home. Very cool. Stay safe.
